Incorporated in March 2009 by Derek DiMartile, VSM Capital is an independent full service commercial mortgage brokerage firm created to provide owners, developers and investors in the Canadian Commercial Real Estate Industry fast, efficient and creative solutions to their commercial mortgage needs. VSM Capital is incorporated in the Province of British Columbia and is a fully-licensed Mortgage Broker with the Financial Institution Commission of British Columbia.
Derek DiMartile – President
Derek has been active in the Commercial Real Estate industry for the past ten years working as a Commercial Mortgage Originator and Underwriter. During that time, he worked for two Investment Banks and two Private Mortgage Funds on real estate deals totaling in excess of $750 million. Most recently he held the position of Commercial Mortgage Originator at Quest Capital Corp. where he funded a total of $100 million dollars of loans on deals he originated in 18 months. Derek holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University where he majored in Finance and Organizational Behavior and minored in Economics. Derek has also taken numerous post-graduate courses in Commercial Real Estate and is a fully licensed mortgage broker with the Mortgage Brokers Association of British Columbia. Derek acts as the President of VSM Capital and is also the President of Epix Developments Ltd., a small, Vancouver-based residential development company. Derek is also a member of the Mortgage Investment Association of British Columbia.
Aaron Chee – Vice President
Aaron Chee graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 2000, and went on to complete his Diploma of Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia in 2005. His involvement in the financing of commercial mortgages across Canada began in 2005, and has varied from projects across the spectrum including office, retail, industrial, multi-family and land development. Having previously worked for a leading private lender in Western Canada as a Senior Mortgage Officer, he has been involved in dozens of transactions totaling over $300 million in financing. Past experience include working at BC Assessment and with a leading British Columbia high-tech firm. Aaron is a commercial member of NAIOP and a fully licensed mortgage broker with the Financial Institution Commission of British Columbia.
